Darren Leung is a professional-level sportscar and endurance driver rated 4,335, placing him among the top 2,000 active drivers on the Elo scale. His FIA Bronze categorisation denotes him as an amateur or gentleman driver within sportscar racing, competing alongside full professionals; this grading applies only within GT and endurance fields and is typical of drivers who race at high level but without the career-long professional trajectory of Platinum or Gold graded peers. Across five seasons from 2022 to 2026, Leung has started 69 races, winning six and finishing on the podium in ten. His results cluster in the middle of competitive fields; his average finishing position across all classified starts stands at P16.1, and he regularly races against much stronger drivers, most notably Alessio Rovera and Sandy Mitchell, both Platinum-graded champions, against whom his head-to-head records run decisively in their favour.[1]
Leung's best results have come in British GT Championship, where he has won four of 15 starts and podiumed seven times since 2022, culminating in the 2023 championship victory he shared with Dan Harper in the GT3 category. Since moving into World Endurance Championship competition in 2024 with Team WRT, he has taken two wins and three podiums from 19 starts, the strongest performances coming in long-distance racing where consistency matters more than outright pace. His record in GT World Challenge Europe and Asian Le Mans Series has yielded no wins or podiums across 35 combined starts, suggesting those fields or machinery configurations have presented steeper competition. Against the elite drivers he occasionally encounters, Lance Stroll, Edoardo Mortara, Maro Engel and Charles Weerts, all rated well above 6,700, Leung has bested each once; these are isolated results against much stronger opposition rather than patterns of competitive engagement. Currently active in 2026 WEC competition, he continues to race for Team WRT in LMGT3 machinery alongside continued British GT commitments with Paradine Competition, his own racing outfit.[2]
