Giuseppe Cirò is a professional racing driver from Italy who raced in the World Touring Car Championship during 2005 for Proteam Motorsport, a small team that fielded two drivers that season. He completed a full calendar of nineteen rounds in single-seater touring car racing against a field mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals.[1]
Cirò finished 22nd in the championship standings across the season. He regularly faced established professionals and graded drivers; he usually finished behind Rickard Rydell, who brought extensive World Touring Car, Formula 3 and GT experience to the grid, and behind Dirk Muller, a Platinum-graded professional with similar sportscar credentials. He did finish ahead of Alain Menu, an established professional who had competed in 178 World Touring Car rounds and multiple Formula 3000 and GT races, three times across the season, and ahead of Antonio Garcia, a four-time IMSA WeatherTech champion and Platinum-graded driver, once.[2]
