Jorge Goncalvez is a professional driver from Venezuela who competed in single-class and multiclass open-wheel racing in the United States between 2009 and 2013. He raced primarily in Star Mazda Championship and Indy NXT, driving for Team Apex and Belardi Auto Racing respectively.[1]
Goncalvez took five podiums across 26 starts in Star Mazda Championship, finishing fifth in the 2010 championship standings. He then moved to Indy NXT, where he made 36 starts for Belardi Auto Racing over three seasons from 2011 to 2013 and added four podiums to his record. A single start in SKUSA SuperNationals completed his indexed career, giving him nine podiums from 63 total starts.[2]
His regular opponents in both series were professional drivers with multi-series experience. Goncalvez ran closely matched against David Ostella, who held FIA Silver status and raced across Star Mazda, Indy NXT and IMSA competition, and Anders Krohn, an FIA Bronze professional who competed in Star Mazda, Indy NXT and Pro Mazda.
