Caio Lara is a professional driver who raced in the Star Mazda Championship, a single-class open-wheel series in the United States run at amateur and professional levels. He competed for JDC Motorsports across three seasons between 2008 and 2010, taking 37 starts.[1]
Lara scored one win and three podiums across his career in Star Mazda, finishing seventh in the championship standings in 2010, his final season of racing on record. He was competitive against established opponents; he regularly finished ahead of Rusty Mitchell, a professional who has since progressed to Indy NXT and IMSA WeatherTech, and his results placed him ahead of Connor De Phillippi and Conor Daly, both of whom would go on to distinguished professional careers, Daly as the 2010 Star Mazda champion and later an IndyCar regular, and De Phillippi as a GT World Challenge and IMSA champion.[2]
