🇮🇹 Edoardo Mortara

Edoardo Mortara is an elite professional racing driver holding Platinum FIA grading, the top classification for endurance and sportscar racing. He races for Mahindra Racing in Formula E, a single-class international championship, and competes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corse. His career spans 16 seasons across single-seater and endurance machinery, with 210 starts yielding 23 wins and 53 podiums.[1]

Mortara won the 2010 Formula 3 Euro Series championship with Signature, taking ten wins across his 50 starts in that series and adding four victories in the Macau edition of Formula 3. He joined Formula E in 2017 and has taken six wins across 91 starts for Mahindra Racing, finishing second in the championship in 2021 and third in 2022. A brief DTM campaign in 2018 produced five podiums from 18 starts. His endurance racing, split between WEC and IMSA, represents a smaller part of his record; he finished 25th in the 2024 WEC championship with Lamborghini Iron Lynx and currently competes in IMSA.[2]

In Formula E, Mortara races regularly against established professionals of equivalent standing. He is closely matched with Sébastien Buemi, a multiple WEC and Formula E champion with nearly double his series starts, and with António Félix da Costa, the 2019 Formula E champion. Against drivers who went on to win championships elsewhere, Mortara has finished ahead of Pascal Wehrlein, the 2024 Formula E champion, in 38 meetings, and Oliver Rowland, the reigning Formula E champion, in 27. His sportscar grading reflects sustained competition at the sport's highest endurance level, and Mahindra Racing has retained him for the upcoming generation four Formula E era.
