🇦🇹 Lucas Auer

Lucas Auer is an established professional racing driver, FIA Platinum graded, competing primarily in GT3 endurance racing and single-driver championships. He drives for Mercedes-AMG in the DTM touring car series and for Winward Racing in the GT World Challenge Europe, where he won the overall and sprint championship in 2024. He also races in the Asian Le Mans Series and holds starts in IMSA WeatherTech and multiclass endurance events.[1]

Across 13 seasons from 2012 to 2026, Auer has accumulated 260 starts with 21 wins and 77 podiums. His early career moved through junior single-seater racing: he spent three seasons in FIA Formula 3 European from 2012 to 2014, scoring four wins and 22 podiums, and took a season in Super Formula in 2019 as a Red Bull Junior. His primary focus shifted to GT and endurance racing from 2019 onwards. In DTM he has taken seven wins from 104 starts since 2018, establishing himself as a consistent front-runner in that championship. In GT World Challenge Europe, his tally stands at six wins from 50 starts, culminating in his 2024 title with Mercedes-AMG Team Mann-Filter and a second championship in 2026 with Winward Racing. He has also won twice in IMSA WeatherTech and twice at the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie.[2]

In GT World Challenge Europe, Auer typically finishes ahead of Ricardo Feller, an established professional and Platinum-graded driver who has won the ADAC GT Masters championship. He shares the DTM grid regularly with Marco Wittmann, the 2011 Formula 3 European champion and fellow Platinum-graded established professional, with whom he is closely matched. He has finished ahead of Max Verstappen, a Formula 1 world champion, on nine occasions in endurance racing at the Nürburgring, and has beaten Liam Lawson, an elite professional, four times in shared-car racing.
