Jo Gartner was an Austrian racing driver who competed across multiple motorsport disciplines during the 1980s. He participated in eight Formula One Grands Prix for Osella during the 1984 season, though he did not score championship points. Prior to his Formula One career, Gartner achieved success in lower formulas, including a victory in the Formula Two Pau Grand Prix. His racing resume also encompassed sports car endurance competition at the highest levels.[1]
During 1985, Gartner contested three rounds of the Formula 3 Macau series for Walter Funda Racing, finishing tenth overall without securing wins or podium finishes. His final recorded racing activity occurred that year. Gartner's career was cut short when he was fatally injured during the 1986 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race.[2]
