James Calado is a British driver from England whose career has been built primarily around endurance and GT racing, with backing early on from the Racing Steps Foundation. He rose through the sports car ranks to become one of the more accomplished GT drivers of his generation, taking LMGTE Pro honors in the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship and again at the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans, before securing outright victory at Le Mans in 2023 and the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship title in the Hypercar class, largely in partnership with Ferrari and AF Corse. Alongside his WEC commitments, he also spent time in Formula E with Panasonic Jaguar Racing, broadening his experience beyond the sports car realm.[1]
In IMSA WeatherTech competition, Calado now drives for Triarsi Competizione, where across 48 career starts he has amassed 9 wins and 21 podium finishes, though he has yet to claim a championship in the series. His current Racer Rating of 6,011 places him 149th among active drivers on the platform's Elo-style scale, reflecting a solid if unspectacular standing relative to the sport's elite. In the 2026 season, Calado sits fifth in the standings through three rounds, having recorded one podium and no wins so far, a modest start that leaves room for improvement as the campaign progresses.[2]
