Ross Chastain is an established professional racing at the national level across NASCAR's top three series. He drives the No. 1 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series, where he competes full-time among a mixed field of amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals. He holds the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series championship. His oval-track specialization across all three series, 263 of 302 Cup starts on ovals, defines his racing pattern, though he races road and street courses in both the Xfinity and Truck series as well.[1]

Chastain won the Cup championship in 2022 and has collected 6 wins and 23 podiums across 302 Cup starts since 2018. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, where he races part-time for multiple teams including JD Motorsports, he has 3 wins and 16 podiums from 223 starts dating to 2014. Chastain races regularly against established professionals including Kyle Busch, a five-time Xfinity champion and 2019 Cup champion with whom he usually finishes behind, and Ty Dillon, against whom he is closely matched. He has finished ahead of elite professionals including Denny Hamlin, the reigning 2025 Cup champion, and Ryan Blaney in head-to-head competition, though such finishes represent isolated results within much larger body-of-work disparities against drivers of that calibre.
