Austin Dillon is an American stock car racing driver who has competed full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. He is the grandson of Richard Childress, the longtime team owner of Richard Childress Racing, and the son of Mike Dillon, a former driver who now serves as the team's general manager. His younger brother, Ty Dillon, has also raced full-time in the Cup Series, making stock car racing something of a family enterprise. Austin Dillon came up through the NASCAR ranks with deep ties to the Childress organization, eventually taking over the wheel of the famed No. 3 car, a number closely associated with his grandfather's team.[1]
Across 356 career Cup Series starts, Dillon has recorded 7 wins and 19 podium finishes, though he has yet to claim a series championship. His Racer Rating of 4,371 places him 406th among active drivers on an Elo-style scale where the sport's elite competitors typically score between 10,000 and 11,500, reflecting a long and steady career rather than sustained frontrunning form. In the 2026 season, Dillon has made 1 start with no wins or podiums, sitting 73rd in the standings early in the campaign. He remains an active competitor in the Cup Series, continuing a career built on consistency and a strong family lineage within NASCAR.[2]
