🇬🇧 Gary Paffett

Gary Paffett is an established professional driver who raced single-seaters and closed-wheel racing across three indexed seasons. He held FIA Platinum status, the highest professional grade in endurance and sportscar racing. His most extensive campaign came in 2018 when he drove for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport PETRONAS in the German touring car championship, taking three wins and ten podiums across nineteen starts. He also contested Formula E that year with HWA Racelab, and made a brief appearance in international Formula 3000 in 2003 before his indexed career resumed fifteen years later.[1]

His DTM season was his primary achievement on record. Racing in a field that mixed amateurs with graded professionals, he finished among the front-runners consistently enough to secure multiple victories. His closest rivals in that championship were Pascal Wehrlein, a Formula 3 Euro Series champion and later Formula E champion, and Robin Frijns, a champion of both Formula Renault and the World Endurance Championship LMP2 category. Paffett proved closely matched against both; he beat Wehrlein multiple times across their encounters and finished ahead of Oliver Rowland, another elite professional and Formula V8 3.5 champion, on the occasions they raced together. His final indexed start came in the GT World Challenge Europe endurance series in 2019, where he shared a car in a single round.[2]

After retiring from full-time competition, Paffett moved into motorsport management and has since served as Racing Director for CUPRA Kiro in Formula E.
