Philipp Eng is an established professional racing driver with FIA Platinum grading, competing in multiclass and single-class endurance racing across North America and Europe. A BMW Motorsport works driver, he races primarily for BMW M Team WRT in IMSA WeatherTech and for Schubert Motorsport in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, piloting GT3 cars and prototype machinery. Over 14 seasons from 2013 to date, Eng has accumulated 152 starts across five major series.[1]

His record centres on endurance racing in America and Europe. In IMSA WeatherTech, where he has taken 47 starts since 2014, Eng has claimed three wins and nine podiums, establishing himself as a consistent finisher in the GTDPRO and GTP classes. The Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, his most successful series in terms of wins, has yielded five victories and eight podiums from 20 starts across the same period. His GT World Challenge Europe campaign, begun in 2019, has brought two wins and three podiums from 11 starts. In the standalone GT World Challenge America round in 2023, he won immediately. In DTM, a solo sprint championship raced from 2018 to 2022, he finished fifth in points with one win and five podiums from 65 starts; his highest-profile single-seater commitment came in 2016–2019 WEC, which produced three starts without points.[2]

Eng races regularly against Platinum-graded professionals of comparable standing. Marco Wittmann, a former Formula 3 European champion with substantial IMSA and DTM experience, is a close rival; they are evenly matched across their common campaigns. The same applies to Sheldon van der Linde, the 2022 DTM champion, whom Eng meets frequently in IMSA and endurance racing. Against drivers stepping up from other series, Eng has finished ahead of Pascal Wehrlein, now an elite professional and Formula E champion, in eight meetings, and has beaten Alex Palou, who has claimed five consecutive IndyCar championships since 2021, twice in shared-car racing.
