Craig Lowndes is an established professional racing in the Supercars Championship, where he drives for Supercheap Auto Racing. Graded FIA Platinum, he competes in single-driver solo sprint racing across Australia's national touring car series. His career on record spans from 1997 in International Formula 3000 through to the present, latterly supplemented by endurance racing in the Bathurst 12 Hour, where he pilots a GT3 car in the PRO class shared with a co-driver.[1]

In the Supercars Championship, his primary series since 2019, Lowndes has taken three wins and four podiums from 14 starts. He sits 33rd in the championship standings in 2025 after two rounds raced to date. In earlier single-seater racing, he contested International Formula 3000 in 1997 with RSM Marko, the team that would later field nine drivers across the index with eight race wins to its name. His endurance racing work includes two starts in the Bathurst 12 Hour for Scott Taylor Motorsport across 2024 and 2025, racing in a field that spans amateur entrants through to graded professionals sharing the same multiclass grid.[2]

Lowndes' record places him among competitors of considerable pedigree. He races regularly against Will Brown, the 2024 Supercars champion and an FIA Gold professional with experience in IndyCar and international touring cars, where the two remain closely matched. He has finished ahead of Scott McLaughlin, an elite professional twice a Supercars champion with an IndyCar campaign of 104 starts to his name, on two occasions. He has also beaten Broc Feeney, who took the 2025 Supercars Championship at the elite professional level.
