Timo Glock is a professional driver rated 4,159 on the Elo scale, currently competing in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters for Dörr Motorsport, a single-class national championship that fields amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals in the same races. He holds FIA Platinum grading, the highest endurance racing classification. Glock races the DTM as a primary focus; his secondary activity spans sportscar racing in multiclass and single-class series across Europe, including Ferrari Challenge in its P class and one-off appearances in longer-distance events.[1]
His indexed record spans 18 seasons from 2003 to 2026 and totals 244 starts across multiple series. In Formula 1 between 2004 and 2012, Glock made 95 starts and took three podiums, most notably for Virgin. His most sustained success came in the junior single-seaters: in Formula 3 Euro Series in 2003 he took three wins and six podiums in 19 starts, then in GP2 Series across 2006 and 2007 he won the 2007 championship with iSport International, taking seven wins and 15 podiums in 32 starts. In his primary current series, the DTM, Glock has competed since 2018 and holds one win and six podiums across 79 starts. His sportscar record includes a win at the 2024 Nürburgring 24 Hours, three podiums in four Ferrari Challenge starts the same year, and a GT Winter Series win in 2024.[2]
Glock's career was shaped by regular opposition to generational-level drivers. He raced Lewis Hamilton repeatedly across three series, Formula 3 Euro Series, GP2 Series and Formula 1, and finished ahead of him 13 times; he also beat Nico Rosberg, a seven-time Formula 1 podium finisher and 2016 world champion, on 18 occasions. These meetings came in the junior categories where both drivers were rising through the grid and in the 2006 and 2007 GP2 seasons; Glock's championship victory in 2007 came in the same series where Rosberg had taken the title in 2005. In his Formula 1 tenure he competed primarily alongside Jerome d'Ambrosio and other developing professionals within Virgin's limited resources rather than against championship contenders at stronger teams.
