He went on to win races in GP2 and later transitioned into sports car racing, building a reputation as one of the more accomplished GT specialists of his generation. As a Ferrari factory driver, he claimed the FIA World Endurance Championship's GT Drivers' Title in both 2013 and 2014, and his broader resume includes the 2008 FIA GT Championship, the 2011 Le Mans Series title, and the 2012 International GT Open crown. He also secured three class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in 2008, 2012, and 2014, along with further endurance racing success at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the 12 Hours of Sebring, and Petit Le Mans. He later became a Porsche factory driver, continuing his career at the top level of GT competition.[1]

His current Racer Rating of 4,234 places him 442nd among active drivers, reflecting a competitive but modest standing relative to the world's top performers. In the 2026 season to date, he has started 3 rounds without a win or podium, sitting 198th in the standings, a sign of a campaign still finding its footing as the year progresses.[2]
