🇫🇷 Richard Westbrook

Richard Westbrook is a retired professional racing driver who competed primarily in multiclass endurance racing. Graded FIA Platinum, he spent 17 seasons racing shared-car prototypes and GT machinery across IMSA WeatherTech, the World Endurance Championship, and German-based series. He drove for established teams including Ford Chip Ganassi Racing and JDC-Miller MotorSports, his longest association, which fielded him across 81 starts in IMSA's DPi, GTD and GTLM classes.[1]

Westbrook won the 2015 IMSA WeatherTech championship, the high point of a career that yielded 11 wins and 38 podiums across 143 starts. In IMSA alone he took 9 wins and 30 podiums, establishing himself as a consistent front-runner across the sport's top prototype and GT classes. He raced the World Endurance Championship over more than a decade, taking five podiums from 20 starts; his final season in 2023 brought a podium finish and a sixth-place championship standing. His single Nürburgring 24 Hours entry in 2022 resulted in victory with Glickenhaus Racing.[2]

The field in which Westbrook spent most of his career included drivers at the highest level of American sportscar racing: Antonio Garcia, a four-time and now five-time IMSA WeatherTech champion across the GTLM and GTDPro classes, and Patrick Pilet, an established professional racing at the same grade. Against both he was closely matched. He also finished ahead of elite professionals including IndyCar champion Alex Palou and Indy NXT champion Kyle Kirkwood, who visited IMSA at lower frequency and outside their primary series.
