Andy Soucek is a retired Spanish-Austrian racing driver with a Racer Rating of 5,187, placing him in the established professional band. His FIA Platinum grading denotes him as a full professional in sportscar and endurance racing, the level at which he spent most of his career. Across eight seasons from 2006 to 2023, he made 53 starts with one win and nine podiums, averaging a ninth-place finish.[1]
Soucek began in single-seaters, competing in Formula V8 3.5 in 2006 where he scored a win and six podiums from 14 starts, and then graduated to the GP2 Series from 2007 to 2008. In GP2, a strong feeder series, he took three podiums from 27 starts but did not win. His record in those two series placed him among competitive drivers at that level; he ran alongside Pastor Maldonado, who would become the 2010 GP2 champion, and finished ahead of him in six of their 25 meetings, though Maldonado held the overall head-to-head advantage with 19 finishes ahead. Later career moves into sportscar racing saw him contest GT World Challenge Europe from 2019 to 2020 and the Nürburgring 24 Hours from 2021 to 2023 with limited success, scoring no wins or podiums in those campaigns. His strongest results against elite-level drivers came in endurance racing, where he finished ahead of Kazuki Nakajima, a three-time WEC LMP1 champion, on six occasions, and beat Charles Weerts, a dominant three-time GT World Challenge Europe champion, twice. Soucek was most frequently competitive against professional-level rivals such as Borja García and Ho-Pin Tung, holding winning records in both head-to-heads.[2]
