🇺🇸 Joey Hand

Joey Hand is a professional road-racing driver competing in IMSA's national endurance series. A Gold-graded driver, he races for Gradient Racing in IMSA WeatherTech's GT classes, where he has spent the bulk of his career since 2014. He also competes in IMSA Pilot Challenge, where he drives a GT4 car for McCumbee McAleer Racing with AEROSPORT, and contested selected NASCAR Cup rounds on road and street courses between 2021 and 2024.[1]

Hand has won six times across 68 IMSA WeatherTech starts and taken 16 podiums in the series. His credentials in international endurance racing include a win at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGTE Pro class driving the Ford GT, and two further podiums from four World Endurance Championship starts between 2016 and 2019. He won once from five Pilot Challenge starts in 2022 and 2023. His NASCAR Cup appearances yielded eight starts on road courses only; he finished ahead of elite professionals including Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell twice each in those outings.[2]

Hand races regularly against established professionals at the top of the endurance grid. His most frequent opponents are Antonio Garcia and Tommy Milner, both Platinum-graded multiple IMSA WeatherTech champions, and he has proven closely matched with them across numerous meetings. His team, Ford Chip Ganassi Racing, fields established professionals and maintains a strong record in IMSA competition. Hand was sidelined through the middle of 2026 but has since been cleared to return to action.
