🇦🇺 Ryan Briscoe

Ryan Briscoe is an Australian-American established professional who raced open-wheel cars and sports prototypes across Europe and America from 2002 to 2023. He held the FIA Platinum grade for endurance and sportscar racing. His primary series were IndyCar, where he started 138 times for Target Chip Ganassi Racing, and the IMSA WeatherTech championship, where he shared cars across multiple classes for Racers Edge Motorsports with WTR and Ford Chip Ganassi Racing.[1]

Briscoe won the 2003 Formula 3 Euro Series with Prema Powerteam at the start of his career, taking eight wins in seventeen starts. He then moved to open-wheel racing in IndyCar, where he scored eight wins and twenty-nine podiums across his eleven seasons, competing on the series' oval and road-course slate. In sports-car racing he accumulated eight wins and twenty podiums across fifty-four IMSA starts and three podiums from thirteen WEC entries. His most recent racing came in the 2023 World Endurance Championship, where he finished twelfth in the standings.[2]

In IndyCar he raced regularly against Scott Dixon, a four-time champion, and typically finished behind him; he was closely matched with Helio Castroneves, a former IndyCar champion and later a DPi champion in IMSA. Briscoe finished ahead of Nico Rosberg, then an elite professional who would later win the Formula 1 world championship, on ten occasions in the Formula 3 Euro Series grid where both competed in 2003.
