Nico Bastian is a professional sportscar driver racing at FIA Gold grade, holding the second professional tier within endurance and GT racing. He competes primarily in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, where he has driven for Mühlner Motorsport since 2011, and has also contested GT World Challenge Europe, the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the 24H Series and IMSA Pilot Challenge in crewed endurance machinery across Europe and North America.[1]

Over 16 seasons, Bastian has accumulated seven wins and 21 podiums from 75 starts. His record is anchored in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, where he has won four times and taken 16 podiums in 44 starts, establishing himself as a consistent front-runner in that national championship. He won the 2026 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie title with Mühlner Motorsport. His single victory in GT World Challenge Europe came in 2019 with HRT, and he has also won in the Nürburgring 24 Hours and the 24H Series. In the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours, he has so far taken a win and a podium from one round raced to date.[2]

Bastian's regular opponents in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie include Christopher Haase, a professional at FIA Platinum grade with extensive experience across multiple series; Bastian runs closely matched against him. He also regularly meets Maro Engel, an established professional and 2024 GT World Challenge Europe champion, though he typically finishes behind Engel in their shared races. Bastian has finished ahead of Nico Müller, an established professional with runs in DTM and Formula E to his credit, twice in their meetings, and has beaten the same Maro Engel five times across their head-to-head encounters.
