🇯🇵 Satoshi Motoyama

Satoshi Motoyama is an established professional racing driver competing in multiclass endurance championships. He spent his indexed career in Super GT, where he raced shared GT500 and GT300 cars for Motoyama Racing with Team LeMans and NISMO across 15 seasons from 2008 to 2022, and made two World Endurance Championship starts in the CDNT class for Nissan Motorsports Global in 2012 and 2014.[1]

Motoyama won the 2008 Super GT GT500 championship, one of three GT500 titles he claimed in the series. Across 97 Super GT starts he took nine wins and 19 podiums; his two WEC appearances both yielded victories. He raced most often against FIA Platinum and Gold graded professionals including two-time GT500 champion Kenta Yamashita, whom he finished ahead of three times, and 2010 GT500 champion Takashi Kogure, with whom he proved closely matched over their many meetings. He also beat 2020 GT500 champion Tadasuke Makino once.[2]

Motoyama's Super GT record placed him consistently among the front-runners in a field that mixed elite professionals with semi-professional and amateur entrants. He remained competitive across both GT500 and GT300 classes, and his 11 career wins across both series and the WEC established him as a winning driver at the highest level of Japanese motorsport.
