🇬🇧 James Nash

James Nash was a professional racing driver, FIA Gold-graded, who competed in solo sprint racing at the international and national level. He spent most of his career in the World Touring Car Championship for bamboo engineering, a small operation that fielded a number of drivers across the span of his involvement with the team. His final competitive season came in the British Touring Car Championship in 2018.[1]

Nash took two wins and five podiums across 56 starts between 2012 and 2013, his most active years in the World Touring Car Championship. In his final season there in 2013, he finished third in the championship standings, placing him among the title contenders in a series that mixed professional, semi-professional and amateur drivers. His record against the field's strongest drivers was mixed; he finished ahead of Thed Bjork, the 2017 World Touring Car Championship champion, and Alain Menu, an established professional with 178 championship starts, though only once against each. He was a regular opponent of Tom Chilton, a professional with significant touring car experience, and closely matched with him across their meetings. Against Yvan Muller, the four-time and later five-time World Touring Car Championship champion, Nash usually finished behind him; Muller was a consistent and much stronger presence on the same grids.[2]

Nash held his own in his final BTCC season in 2018 as a brief entrant for BTC Norlin Racing before stepping away from racing.
