João Paulo de Oliveira is an established professional, FIA Platinum-graded, racing in Super GT, Japan's multiclass endurance championship. He drives for Kondo Racing in the GT300 class, piloting a mix of FIA GT3 cars and Japanese-built GT300 specials alongside a rotating co-driver in each race. De Oliveira is active across multiple series; he has also competed in the Stock Car Pro Series in Brazil in 2025 and holds a record in single-seater and international sportscar racing dating back to 2001.[1]

De Oliveira has won the Super GT GT300 championship twice, in 2020 and 2022, across 145 starts in the series spanning from 2008 to 2026. His 14 wins and 32 podiums in Super GT form the bulk of his 175 career starts. Beyond Japan, he has raced the FIA World Touring Car Championship, competed in the World Endurance Championship for Floyd Vanwall Racing Team in 2023, and started one IndyCar race in 2011. His most recent full campaign outside Super GT came in 2025, when he took two podiums across 19 Stock Car Pro Series rounds in Brazil.[2]

In Super GT, de Oliveira regularly races against established and elite professionals. He is closely matched with Takashi Kogure, himself a two-time Super GT champion and FIA Gold-graded driver with 147 starts in the series. Against Kosuke Matsuura, another Gold-graded professional and former IndyCar competitor with 132 Super GT starts, de Oliveira typically finishes ahead. His career includes single finishes ahead of significantly stronger drivers: he has beaten Sebastian Vettel, the four-time Formula 1 world champion, and Tadasuke Makino, the 2020 Super GT GT500 champion and elite professional. Kondo Racing, his team through the vast majority of his Super GT career, operates with 28 race wins across the series and has fielded established professionals including Kenta Yamashita.
