🇦🇹 Richard Lietz

Richard Lietz is an established professional racing driver, FIA Platinum graded, and a factory Porsche driver competing in international endurance racing. He races primarily in the World Endurance Championship for Manthey 1ST Phorm, where he drives Porsche 911 GT3 R machinery; he also competes in the Asian Le Mans Series and European Le Mans Series, racing both GTE and GT3 cars in multiclass and single-class fields shared among multiple drivers per entry.[1]

Lietz has spent eighteen seasons in indexed racing since 2003, accumulating 189 starts across multiple series. His record in the WEC spans from 2012 to the present, with 98 starts yielding 14 wins and 39 podiums; he won the WEC championship in 2015 with Porsche Team Manthey and again in 2025 with Manthey 1ST Phorm. In IMSA WeatherTech he has taken three wins from 21 starts. He also won the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2019 and has raced in the European Le Mans Series with one victory across 21 starts. His career began in Formula 3 Euro Series in 2003, where he started fifteen races.[2]

His regular opponents in the WEC are professionals of equal standing. Davide Rigon, a 2016 WEC LMGTE Pro champion with 85 WEC starts to his name, is closely matched against Lietz; Marco Sorensen, the 2022 WEC LMGTE Am champion, is similarly competitive. Lietz has finished ahead of drivers at the elite level, including Nico Rosberg, the 2016 Formula 1 world champion, three times across their meetings. In the 2026 WEC season, still in progress, Lietz sits seventh in the championship standings with three podiums from six rounds completed.
