Matthew Brabham is an established professional racing driver competing for Chris Dyson Racing in Trans-Am, where he drives the No. 20 Ford Mustang. His career spans eleven seasons and five different series at national and international level, from single-seater open-wheel racing to multiclass endurance competition. He holds an FIA Silver grade, the step below full-professional status in sportscar racing.[1]

Brabham's breakthrough came in 2013 with the Pro Mazda Championship, where he won thirteen of sixteen races for Andretti Autosport to claim the title at the age of twenty-one. He then spent a decade in Indy NXT, finishing with three wins and eleven podiums across thirty-seven starts for Juncos Hollinger Racing. His record there places him ahead of fellow professionals Juan Piedrahita and Scott Anderson, both regular opponents, in their head-to-head matchups. He made two appearances in IndyCar in 2016 and has raced IMSA endurance events, including six starts in WeatherTech LMP2 in 2024 and 2025. Since 2021, Trans-Am has become his primary series, and his record there stands at fifteen wins from twenty-six starts across the four seasons before 2026.[2]

The 2026 Trans-Am season is heavily in his favour. With ten rounds raced, Brabham leads the championship standings with eight wins and nine podiums from those ten races, placing him well clear of the field. The trans-American GT touring-car grid includes established professionals and former champions, and his current winning pace reflects the highest form of the series. He finished ahead of Josef Newgarden and Will Power once each in their limited meetings, both Platinum-graded drivers with multiple IndyCar championships between them, though those results came in different eras of his career and in different series where the competitive context differed markedly.
