Niklas Kruetten is an established professional racing in international multiclass endurance series. Graded FIA Silver, he raced prototypes in the European Le Mans Series for COOL Racing across 2021 and 2022, contesting both the LMP2 and LMP3 classes. He also made appearances in IMSA WeatherTech and the Road to Le Mans series.[1]
Kruetten won the 2021 European Le Mans Series championship with COOL Racing, taking two wins and seven podiums across twelve starts in the series. He added a podium in Road to Le Mans that same year. A single appearance in the 2022 WEC season completed his indexed racing record before retirement.[2]
His record in the endurance fields he inhabited was solid against regular opposition. He typically finished ahead of Duncan Tappy, an FIA Silver professional with a career spanning European Le Mans, Road to Le Mans and Le Mans Cup, and ahead of Ugo De Wilde, an established professional who had competed in Formula Renault Eurocup and GT World Challenge Europe alongside endurance racing. Kruetten also finished ahead of Jack Aitken, the 2015 Formula Renault Eurocup champion, on five occasions across their meetings in shared-car racing.
