🇨🇭 Neel Jani

Neel Jani is a professional racing driver rated 4,865, an FIA Platinum-graded driver competing in endurance motorsport. He races for Proton Competition in the World Endurance Championship, where he has spent most of his career. His primary machinery is LMP2 and Hypercar prototypes in long-distance racing. Jani is Swiss, and his racing record spans 17 seasons from 2004 to 2025 across multiple categories.[1]

His WEC career began in 2012 and now totals 79 starts with 7 wins and 28 podiums for Proton Competition; this forms the backbone of his professional record. He has also competed in single-seaters, winning twice in GP2 Series in 2005 and 2006 with Arden International, and appeared in Formula E for TAG Heuer Porsche in 2017 through 2019. He has contested multiclass endurance racing in the European Le Mans Series, winning once and taking two podiums across five starts, and has raced in IMSA WeatherTech with JDC Miller MotorSports, collecting one win and three podiums from ten starts. His sole start in the FIA GT Championship came in 2004. In his current 2025 WEC season, Jani has contested eight rounds and holds 23rd in the championship standings.[2]

Jani's regular WEC opponents include Sébastien Buemi, an established professional who has won the WEC championship five times and also raced in Formula 1, against whom Jani usually finishes behind; and Brendon Hartley, another Platinum-graded driver who won the 2016 and 2023 WEC Hypercar championships and has 25 Formula 1 starts, with whom Jani is closely matched. Early in his career Jani raced in GP2 Series against Lewis Hamilton, finishing ahead of him once, and against Nico Rosberg, whom he beat five times; both would later become Formula 1 champions of substantially greater stature. Jani has spent 25 of his indexed starts with Porsche Team, an established operation that has fielded elite professionals including Nico Hülkenberg and achieved 39 race wins across its entry.
