Kamui Kobayashi is a Japanese driver who competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Toyota Racing. Before moving into endurance racing, he built his early reputation in single-seaters, including a spell in Formula One from 2009 to 2014 that established him as a recognized name in international motorsport. He later transitioned to sports car racing, where he has become one of the sport's more experienced campaigners, and he has also taken on a leadership role as Toyota's WEC team principal alongside his driving duties.[1]
