🇺🇸 Sammy Smith

Sammy Smith is an established professional racing full-time in NASCAR Xfinity, where he drives the No. 8 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for Spire Motorsports and holds an FIA Silver grade in endurance racing. Smith has been active since 2021 across six seasons and 183 starts, primarily on oval tracks; his record spans the ARCA Menards Series at multiple levels and a single endurance start in IMSA Pilot Challenge GS-class competition.[1]

Smith won three championships in his first two seasons. He took the 2021 ARCA Menards East title and followed with both the 2022 ARCA Menards East and 2022 ARCA Menards Series championships, the latter two while driving for Kyle Busch's TMC operation. In ARCA competition alone he has recorded 15 wins and 28 podiums across 38 starts. His NASCAR Xfinity record spans 132 starts with three wins and 16 podiums since 2022, nearly all on ovals; he has also made 10 starts in the Truck Series and sampled Trans-Am TA2 road racing in 2022.[2]

Smith races regularly alongside Brandon Jones and Sam Mayer, both established professionals competing at his level. He has finished ahead of Christopher Bell, an elite professional and 2024 NASCAR Cup Series champion, twice, and ahead of Ty Gibbs, a two-time ARCA Menards Series champion now racing in the Cup Series, seven times. His sustained presence in Xfinity and continued progression through the NASCAR ranks places him mid-field in a field of established and developing professionals competing toward promotion to higher stock-car series.
