Paul Stewart was an established professional racing driver who competed in single-seater championships in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He raced in Formula 3 Macau and International Formula 3000, driving for Stewart, the team with which he completed the majority of his career. His career was spent largely in grids combining amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals; he regularly raced against drivers such as Paolo Delle Piane, whom he typically finished ahead of, and David Coulthard, usually placing behind him. Stewart beat Allan McNish and Coulthard twice each across their meetings, both established professionals who went on to distinguished careers in Formula 1 and sports cars.[2]
