André Lotterer is an established professional sportscar driver with a Racer Rating of 5,969, placing him among the upper tier of full-time endurance racers. His FIA Platinum grading reflects his standing as one of the world's leading drivers in the WEC, where he has built a career spanning 15 seasons and claimed six world championships: two Super GT titles in 2008 and 2009, three WEC LMP1 crowns in 2012, 2013 and 2015, and most recently the 2024 WEC Hypercar championship with Porsche. Across 183 career starts in multiple series, Lotterer has recorded 15 wins and 64 podiums, averaging a P6.4 finish.[1]
The bulk of Lotterer's work lies in the WEC, where his 77 starts include 12 wins and 42 podiums for Genesis Magma Racing. His head-to-head record against elite endurance rivals is competitive rather than dominant; he has raced 118 times against Sébastien Buemi, a five-time WEC champion one level above him in strength, finishing ahead 57 times but trailing 61. Similar patterns hold against Jean-Éric Vergne and António Félix da Costa, both Formula E champions and stronger drivers on paper, where Lotterer's shared records sit slightly in his favour or clearly against him. He fares better against Loïc Duval, the 2010 Super GT champion, leading that head-to-head 44 to 28 across 72 races. Single results against elite single-seater drivers, Pierre Gasly, Alex Palou, Fernando Alonso and Nico Hülkenberg, show Lotterer capable of mixing with much higher-rated competitors, though these are isolated instances rather than evidence of sustained competitiveness at that level. His 2014 Formula 1 appearance for Caterham and 67 Formula E starts between 2017 and 2023, which yielded eight podiums but no wins, represent brief excursions outside his core discipline. Lotterer remains active in the 2026 WEC season, where Genesis Magma Racing is establishing itself in the championship.[2]
