Werner Lupberger is an established professional racing driver from South Africa who competed in International Formula 3000, a single-class open-wheel championship that fielded drivers across amateur, semi-professional and professional grades in the same races. His indexed career spans two seasons, 1997 and 1998, during which he made 20 starts for Edenbridge Racing, a small team that fielded multiple drivers across the period.[1]

Lupberger's racing career on record consists of a full two seasons in International Formula 3000. He finished 18th in the 1998 championship standings, the final season of his indexed activity. The highlights of his record against the field were isolated; he finished ahead of Marc Gene, who went on to race in Formula 1, and ahead of Nick Heidfeld, who won the 1999 International Formula 3000 championship and later raced in Formula 1 for multiple seasons.
