Jamie Davies is a retired British racing driver who competed as an established professional across single-seater and sports car racing from 1995 to 2008. He raced in Formula 3 Macau, International Formula 3000, and the FIA GT Championship, primarily for Fortec Motorsports in the junior series and Scuderia Ecosse in the top-level GT programme. His Racer Rating of 5,098 places him among established professionals; drivers at this level win races regularly and compete credibly against graded professionals in mixed fields.[1]
Davies took 80 starts across his career and recorded three wins and 16 podiums. In Formula 3000, he won once and took seven podiums in 32 starts for Fortec Motorsports between 1997 and 2000. His longer tenure came in the FIA GT Championship, where he spent seven seasons from 2002 to 2008 with Scuderia Ecosse, taking two wins and nine podiums across 44 starts in shared-car racing. His final season, 2008, saw him finish 27th in the championship standings.[2]
His regular opponents in the FIA GT Championship included Fabrizio Gollin, the 2004 FIA GT champion, and Andrea Piccini, against both of whom Davies held a closely matched record. He also finished ahead of Mark Webber, then a future Formula 1 world champion and Le Mans winner, twice in International Formula 3000; and once ahead of Fernando Alonso in the same series, before Alonso went on to win two Formula 1 world championships and become a major international sports car driver.
