Mark Shaw was an established professional racing driver who competed in a single-class international open-wheel championship. He drove for Redman-Bright in International Formula 3000 during 1998, his only indexed season of competition.[1]
Shaw took ten starts across the 1998 International Formula 3000 season and finished 24th in the championship standings. The field mixed amateur and semi-professional entrants with graded professionals; Shaw typically finished behind established drivers such as Nick Heidfeld, who would go on to win the 1999 title and later race in Formula 1 and Formula E, and Gonzalo Rodríguez, a competitor with 27 International Formula 3000 starts. He finished ahead of Fabrizio Gollin once, a driver who would later become a 2004 FIA GT Champion with 54 starts in that series, and Werner Lupberger in another outing.[2]
