🇬🇧 Philip Ellis

Philip Ellis is an established professional racing driver competing in international GT and endurance racing. Holding an FIA Gold grading, Ellis races for Winward Racing in the IMSA WeatherTech Championship, where he has been a mainstay since 2021 and holds the team's primary Mercedes-AMG GT3 entry. He also competes in GT World Challenge America for JMF Motorsports and has accumulated ten seasons of racing across multiple series and formats since 2012.[1]

Ellis has won three IMSA WeatherTech championships with Winward Racing in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Across his IMSA WeatherTech campaign of 53 starts he has taken 15 wins and 21 podiums, establishing himself as a consistent front-runner in the category. In GT World Challenge America he has added 6 wins from 25 starts since 2024. His record in endurance racing spans shared-car and multiclass championships: he has competed in the 24H Series, the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, the Nürburgring 24 Hours and the Bathurst 12 Hour, alongside single-round contests in British GT and ADAC GT Masters. Early in his career he raced Formula 3 in 2012 and competed in the DTM in 2021, where he took a win and three podiums for Mercedes-AMG Team Winward.[2]

Ellis races regularly against FIA Gold professionals of his own standing. He is closely matched with Robby Foley and Aaron Telitz, both 2025 IMSA WeatherTech competitors with extensive experience across shared-car and multiclass racing; Telitz is a former IMSA WeatherTech champion. In multiclass endurance grids Ellis has finished ahead of drivers who have reached higher levels: Liam Lawson, who races Formula 1, and Carlos Sainz, who has contested 247 Formula 1 races. Winward Racing, his primary team since 2021, has fielded Max Verstappen among its 38 drivers across this index, though Ellis's tenure predates and extends beyond any period they may have coincided.
