Before pursuing motorsport, Iribe built a career as a game programmer and entrepreneur, co-founding Scaleform and later Oculus VR, Inc., experience that gave him a background in technology and simulation before he transitioned into competitive racing. He came to the sport later in his professional life, a path shared by other business figures who move into endurance racing after establishing themselves in other industries.[1]
