🇳🇱 Max van Splunteren

Max van Splunteren, a Dutch racing driver with a Racer Rating of 3,991, competed at semi-professional level; this band describes drivers who win in pro-am and one-make classes and run mid-pack among full professionals. The FIA categorises him as Silver in sportscar racing, a professional-level grading typically held by young or early-career drivers in GT and endurance competition. Van Splunteren's record consists of 28 starts across two series between 2019 and 2022, accumulating a single podium finish and an average grid position of P10.9.[1]

His career centred on the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, where he contested 27 races over four seasons with Team GP Elite. In this one-make series he competed regularly against established professionals and multiple champions; he finished behind Larry Ten Voorde, a Gold-graded three-time Supercup champion, in 25 of their 27 head-to-head meetings, and behind Dylan Pereira, the 2022 Supercup champion, in 21 of 27 shared races. His only podium came in this championship. Van Splunteren also gained a single World Endurance Championship appearance for Proton Competition in 2020. He finished ahead of higher-rated drivers on occasions, including multiple finishes ahead of former Supercup champion Michael Ammermüller and then-Platinum graded Ayhancan Guven, though these remained exceptions in fields where he typically ran in the mid-field.[2]

Van Splunteren is now retired from racing.
