Thomas Preining is an Austrian racing driver who built his early reputation in Porsche's one-make ranks, winning the German Porsche Carrera Cup title in 2018 before going on to claim the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters championship in 2023. That background in Porsche machinery has carried through to his current program, where he competes for Manthey in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.[1]
In IMSA competition, Preining has made four career starts, taking one win and one podium finish without yet securing a championship. His 2026 season is off to a strong start, with one win and one podium from two rounds contested so far, though he currently sits P108 in the standings. Racer DB rates him 6,823 in its Elo-style system, placing him 98th among active drivers, reflecting a career still in its early stages within the series as he works to build on his sports car results.[2]
