🇮🇹 Andrea Piccini

Andrea Piccini is a professional endurance racing driver rated FIA Gold, the professional-standard grade in sportscar racing. He raced primarily in shared-car GT championships over a seventeen-season career from 1999 to 2021, with his main base in the FIA GT Championship for CR Scuderia, where he took six wins and fifteen podiums across sixty starts. He is part-owner and principal of Iron Lynx Motorsport Lab, the team through which he contested Le Mans Cup, WEC and other endurance series in his final years.[1]

Piccini's most substantial record came in FIA GT, where he was a regular competitor against established professionals. He finished 13th in the 2021 WEC championship across five rounds in his final season with Iron Lynx. In single-seater racing, he contested twenty-seven starts in International Formula 3000 from 1999 to 2001. He took podiums in Le Mans Cup with Iron Lynx and competed in multiclass endurance racing, including three starts in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in GT3 machinery. He drove for Lister Storm Racing when they won the 2003 FIA GT Championship and for Kessel Racing when they won the 2018 Le Mans Cup GT3, though his own appearances in those title years were limited.[2]

His regular opponents in FIA GT included Fabrizio Gollin, the 2004 FIA GT champion, against whom Piccini was closely matched. He also raced alongside Fabio Babini, a Platinum-graded driver with eighty-five FIA GT starts. Piccini shared the grid with elite-level drivers; he finished ahead of Fernando Alonso, the two-time Formula 1 champion and 2018 WEC LMP1 champion, once across their meetings, and ahead of Mark Webber, the 2016 WEC LMP1 champion, three times.
