Fabio Babini is an entry-level professional racing driver competing in multiclass endurance championships. Rated FIA Platinum, the full-professional grade in sportscar and endurance racing, he races GT3 machinery for Tsunami RT in the 24H Series and Asian Le Mans Series. His career spans 18 seasons from 1999 to the present, with 111 starts across international endurance grids.[1]
Babini's record centres on the FIA GT Championship, where he raced for BMS Scuderia Italia across a decade from 1999 to 2009, taking three wins and 19 podiums from 85 starts. He has since turned to shorter-format endurance racing. In the Le Mans Cup he won twice from eight starts between 2017 and 2022, and took a victory in the Road to Le Mans support series. He made a single appearance in the World Endurance Championship in 2018. His current campaign in the Asian Le Mans Series and the 24H Series continues his presence in international GT3 racing.[2]
In the FIA GT Championship he raced regularly alongside Andrea Bertolini, a three-time FIA GT champion who went on to establish himself in WEC and GT World Challenge Europe; the two finished closely matched through their shared seasons. Babini has also crossed paths with established professionals including Austin Cindric, the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity champion, and Nigel Mansell, the 1992 Formula 1 world champion, both whom he has beaten in race finishes. These meetings sit within grids that routinely mix amateur, semi-professional and graded-professional competitors in the same race.
