🇩🇪 Christian Ried

Christian Ried is a professional driver competing in multiclass endurance racing. He races for Iron Lynx in the WEC, where he shares a GT3 car in the LMGT3 class. He has been active in sportscar racing for 23 seasons since 1999, holding an FIA Bronze licence and accumulating 182 starts across the WEC, European Le Mans Series and FIA GT Championship.[1]

Ried won four championships as a driver: the 2012 WEC with Team Felbermayr-Proton, the 2018 and 2019 WEC titles with Dempsey-Proton Racing, and the 2022 European Le Mans Series with Proton Competition. He has 15 wins and 42 podiums across his career. His long association with Proton Competition accounts for 100 of his starts; the team won the LMGTE title in both 2021 and 2022 during his tenure there. In the WEC alone he has taken 13 wins and 37 podiums across 89 starts. His current 2025 WEC season with Iron Lynx stands at two rounds completed, with him lying 22nd in the championship standings.[2]

Ried typically races against entry-level and Silver-graded professionals in shared-car endurance fields. He has been a regular opponent of Emmanuel Collard, a 2016 WEC LMGTE Am champion who usually finishes ahead of him, and Mike Hezemans, a professional with 117 FIA GT Championship starts. His strongest result on record came against Matt Campbell, an established Platinum-graded professional and three-time WEC champion, whom he beat once; he has also finished ahead of Matthew Payne, a Gold-graded professional, on four occasions.
