🇺🇾 Santi Urrutia

Santi Urrutia is an established professional who raced single-seaters in North America. He competed in the GP3 Series in 2014 and spent three seasons in Indy NXT from 2016 to 2018, driving primarily for Belardi Auto Racing. He won the 2016 Indy NXT championship with SPM with Curb-Agajanian.[1]

Urrutia took eight wins and 24 podiums across 65 starts in indexed racing. His breakthrough came in Indy NXT, where he claimed 8 wins and 24 podiums in 50 starts over three seasons. He finished third in the 2018 championship after taking 2 wins and 8 podiums from 17 rounds. His single season in GP3 in 2014 produced 15 starts with no podium finishes.[2]

In a field that mixed amateurs and semi-professionals with graded professionals, Urrutia regularly finished ahead of entry-level professionals such as Neil Alberico and Silver-graded driver Dalton Kellett. He also beat Pato O'Ward, an elite professional and 2018 Indy NXT champion, on six occasions, and Felix Rosenqvist, an established professional and former FIA Formula 3 European champion, the same number of times. Belardi Auto Racing, which fielded him for most of his Indy NXT career, was an established operation that also fielded Rosenqvist at some point in its history.
