🇺🇸 Colton Herta

Colton Herta is an elite professional driver competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for Hitech, supported by Cadillac. He holds an FIA Platinum grading, the highest professional categorisation in sportscar and endurance racing. Herta has spent the bulk of his career in IndyCar, where he has taken nine wins and twenty podiums across 117 starts since 2018, running the full calendar on ovals, road courses and street tracks.[1]

His early career progressed through single-seater racing in Britain and across open-wheel championships in North America. He won six races in Indy NXT in 2017 and 2018, part of a career total of 23 wins and 60 podiums across 220 starts. In IndyCar, Herta has been closely matched with established professionals including Scott Dixon, a five-time series champion, and elite professional Pato O'Ward, who won the Indy NXT title in 2018. At the endurance level, he has taken three wins in IMSA WeatherTech across 15 starts since 2019, splitting his time between GTD, GTLM and GTP machinery at Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing. His Formula 2 campaign began in 2026 with Hitech.[2]

Herta's strongest early result came in British F4 in 2015 with Carlin, where he outfinished Lando Norris across the season; Norris went on to win the British F4 title that year and has since become a Formula 1 race winner and the 2025 Formula 1 World Champion. In IndyCar, Herta has regularly finished ahead of Alex Palou, a three-time champion of that series who claimed a fourth title in 2025.
