🇫🇷 Alain Ferté

Alain Ferté is a French established professional racing driver rated 5,422 and graded FIA Bronze. He raced solo in International Formula 3000 between 1985 and 1989 for Colin Bennett Racing, then moved to shared-car endurance racing; he appeared in the FIA GT Championship across 1997 to 2008, the WEC in 2012, and the 24H Series in 2021, driving GT3 and GTE machinery for teams including JMB Racing and GPX Racing.[1]

His record spans ten seasons but covers only 33 starts. In Formula 3000 he took two podiums in 25 outings over five years; in his later endurance campaigns he was largely a circuit guest, with one entry each in WEC and FIA GT, but scored a win and a podium in the 24H Series for GPX Racing in 2021. His most recent activity was a single WEC start in 2012 that left him 18th in the championship standings.[2]

Ferté raced regularly against established professionals in fields mixing amateur and professional entrants. He was closely matched with John Nielsen, an established professional with significant experience across Formula 3000, FIA GT and Formula 3 Macau, usually finishing behind his brother Michel, also an established professional and a Formula 3000 regular. He finished ahead of Maro Engel, a Platinum-graded champion of GT World Challenge Europe, and Damon Hill, the 1996 Formula 1 world champion, in their respective meetings; both instances were single-race occurrences rather than part of an extended campaign.
