🇬🇧 Alexander Rossi

Alexander Rossi is an established professional racing driver rated Platinum by the FIA in endurance competition, currently campaigning in the IndyCar Series for Ed Carpenter Racing. He has raced across single-seater championships and American open-wheel racing for 17 seasons since 2010, with 290 starts across multiple series.[1]

Rossi's primary career has been in IndyCar, where he has taken 8 wins and 31 podiums across 183 starts since 2016, racing roughly two-thirds road and street courses and one-third ovals. He won the Indianapolis 500 as a rookie in 2016. Before IndyCar, he progressed through the single-seater ladder: GP3 Series and Formula V8 3.5 in 2010-2012, where he took 4 wins between them; GP2 Series from 2013 to 2015 with 4 wins and 11 podiums for Racing Engineering; and a brief five-start spell in Formula 1 with Manor Marussia in 2015. He has also contested endurance racing in IMSA WeatherTech and the World Endurance Championship, taking a win in IMSA and a podium in WEC.[2]

In IndyCar, Rossi regularly contests races against established professionals including two-time champion Josef Newgarden and five-time champion Scott Dixon, with whom he runs closely matched. He has finished ahead of elite professional Alex Palou on 30 occasions and Pato O'Ward, an elite professional and IMSA WeatherTech champion, on 42 occasions; both are significantly faster drivers racing in the same series, so these results reflect the consistency of a professional field rather than a gap narrowed by single-race fortune.
