🇨🇦 Roman De Angelis

Roman De Angelis is an established professional racing driver rated at 4,903, competing in multiclass endurance and sprint racing at national and international level. He drives GT3 cars for Aston Martin Thor Team in IMSA WeatherTech, the premier North American sportscar championship, and holds the FIA Gold grade. De Angelis has been active since 2017 and currently competes in the 2026 WEC season alongside his IMSA commitments.[1]

De Angelis won the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech GTD championship. His record spans 105 starts across eight series, yielding 13 wins and 33 podiums. In IMSA WeatherTech, where he has made 74 starts for Aston Martin Thor, he has taken 7 wins and 19 podiums since 2019. He has also raced the GT4 America Pro-Am class with Heart of Racing Team, posting 3 wins and 8 podiums in 15 starts across 2023 and 2024. His other entries include three podium finishes in the international 24H Series, one win in the 2022 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, and early-career success in single-driver Porsche racing, winning both starts in the 2017 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge. He is currently 21st in the 2026 WEC points standings after one round, with the season still in progress.[2]

De Angelis races regularly against established professionals including Robby Foley, a Gold-graded driver and former IMSA Pilot Challenge and GT World Challenge America champion, with whom he is closely matched. He has also measured himself against some of the sport's strongest drivers; he has finished ahead of Kyle Kirkwood, an elite professional and three-time Indy NXT champion, in seven meetings, and once beat Alex Palou, a five-time IndyCar champion and one of the world's leading drivers. His primary team, Heart of Racing, has fielded 26 drivers and recorded 44 wins across the index, maintaining a competitive presence in GT racing.
