Zachary Claman De Melo is a retired Canadian professional open-wheel driver who raced primarily in Indy NXT for Belardi Auto Racing between 2016 and 2019, with concurrent starts in IndyCar and IMSA WeatherTech endurance racing. He holds an FIA Silver grade in sportscar racing. His career spans 53 starts across five seasons from 2015 to 2019.[1]

Claman De Melo won twice in Indy NXT and took seven podiums across all series, with most of his activity concentrated in the open-wheel ladder. He made ten starts in IndyCar across 2017 and 2018, racing six road and street courses and four ovals. A single IMSA WeatherTech entry in a GT3 car in 2017 and limited appearances in Formula Renault Eurocup and SKUSA SuperNationals completed his record.[2]

His regular opponents in Indy NXT and related series included Dalton Kellett, against whom he typically finished ahead, and Kyle Kaiser, the 2017 Indy NXT champion, with whom he ran closely matched. Claman De Melo finished ahead of Pato O'Ward twice; O'Ward went on to win the 2018 Indy NXT title and compete extensively in IndyCar at an elite level. He also beat David Malukas on five occasions in their shared races, before Malukas established himself as an IndyCar regular.
