Zachary Claman De Melo was an established professional single-seater driver, FIA Silver graded, who raced primarily in Indy NXT for Belardi Auto Racing between 2016 and 2019. He competed across open-wheel series including ten IndyCar starts, a Formula Renault Eurocup season, and one IMSA endurance entry in a GT3 car, accumulating 53 starts over five seasons.[1]

His record centred on Indy NXT, where he took two wins and six podiums across 39 starts. He made ten IndyCar appearances in 2017 and 2018, racing a mix of road courses and ovals, though without returning to the series regularly. His early career included two Formula Renault Eurocup rounds in 2015 and a single IMSA WeatherTech GTD entry in 2017. His final indexed appearance came at the SKUSA SuperNationals in 2018.[2]

In Indy NXT he was regularly faster than Dalton Kellett, a Silver-graded professional with 69 starts in the series, and closely matched with Kyle Kaiser, the 2017 Indy NXT champion.
