🇨🇭 Marcel Fässler

Marcel Fässler is an established professional, FIA Platinum graded, who spent his career in international endurance racing. He raced primarily for Audi Sport Team Joest in the World Endurance Championship between 2010 and 2019, alongside stints with Corvette Racing in the WEC and IMSA WeatherTech, and competed in multiclass endurance series across Europe and North America. His machinery across those campaigns ranged from prototype LMP1 cars to GTE-class production-based machines.[1]

Fässler won the WEC drivers' championship three times, in 2012, 2013 and 2015, all with Audi. Across 44 WEC starts he took 10 wins and 26 podiums. He also raced the FIA GT Championship between 2006 and 2009, taking 2 wins and 7 podiums across 14 starts; the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie from 2010 to 2019, with 2 wins and 6 podiums in 12 starts; and IMSA WeatherTech from 2016 to 2020, recording 2 podiums across 13 starts. His final season came in 2019 WEC, after which he retired.[2]

His endurance record placed him among Platinum-graded professionals in fields that mixed amateurs with full-time competitors. He finished ahead of Nico Hülkenberg, a Formula 1 driver and elite professional, on race occasions, and ran closely matched against peers such as Neel Jani, a professional with extensive WEC and single-seater experience, and Romain Dumas, a championship-winning endurance driver in the same series. His 85 starts across all indexed categories yielded 14 wins and 41 podiums.
