🇮🇹 Enrico Toccacelo

Enrico Toccacelo was an established professional racing in single-seater and endurance championships across Europe from 2000 to 2007. He raced in International Formula 3000 for BCN Competicion, Formula V8 3.5 for EuroInternational, a single round of the FIA GT Championship for Aston Martin Racing BMS, and Formula 3 Macau for Prema Powerteam. He holds an FIA Silver grade, the classification for drivers developing within GT and endurance racing below the full-professional Platinum and Gold levels.[1]

Toccacelo's record spanned four championship series across eight seasons and 59 starts. His strongest work came in International Formula 3000 between 2001 and 2004, where he took three wins and ten podiums from 36 starts with BCN Competicion, including a championship battle in 2004 when he briefly led Vitantonio Liuzzi before Liuzzi won three consecutive races to take the title; Toccacelo finished runner-up. He moved to Formula V8 3.5 in 2005 and 2006, taking one win and one podium from 14 starts, and completed his indexed career with a single GT endurance entry in 2007 and three starts in Formula 3 Macau in 2000.[2]

In his most frequent F3000 competition, Toccacelo proved closely matched with Patrick Friesacher, an established professional who would go on to race in Formula 1, and regularly finished ahead of fellow F3000 regular Tony Schmidt. His career included single victories over established professionals of note, among them Will Power, the two-time IndyCar champion who had also raced in Formula V8 3.5, and Nigel Mansell, the 1992 Formula 1 world champion, though these were isolated results in fields that ranged from developing to professional level across both series.
