Franck Perera is an established professional racing in multiclass and single-class endurance championships, holding FIA Platinum grading. He competes across GT3 and prototype machinery for teams including GRT Grasser Racing Team and VDS Panis Racing, where his current activity centres on the World Endurance Championship.[1]
Perera's racing spans 22 years and 182 starts across formula, single-seater and sportscar series. His early career included 37 starts in Formula 3 Euro Series with Prema Powerteam and 19 in GP2 Series, alongside four IndyCar starts in 2008. He moved into endurance racing from 2016 onwards, competing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie before expanding into GT championships from 2019. His record shows four wins across five series: one in GT World Challenge Europe, one in ADAC GT Masters, one in DTM and one in IMSA WeatherTech. He took two podiums in his WEC debut in 2024 and has continued in the series into 2025. In 2023 and 2024 he raced DTM as a solo driver for GRT Grasser, taking four podiums from 22 starts in that national German championship.[2]
He races regularly alongside established professionals and graded drivers in multiclass grids. Against Ricardo Feller, a 2021 ADAC GT Masters champion and fellow Platinum-graded driver, Perera holds his own as a closely matched competitor. Against Maro Engel, the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe champion and another Platinum-graded regular opponent, Perera typically finishes behind. His record in single-seaters included encounters with Lewis Hamilton in the 2004 and 2005 Formula 3 Euro Series, where Hamilton won the 2005 title; Perera took seven podiums across his 37-start career in that series but finished behind Hamilton nine times across their meetings.
